Kier Harlow Ltd, which became operational on
1 February 2007, provides repairs & maintenance for social housing & environmental services including street cleansing, landscaping & grounds maintenance, graffiti & fly-tipping removal, and litter clearance.
The public private partnership contract with Harlow District Council has been secured for seven years under the government’s Best Value programme. There is an option to extend the contract for a further three years and the council retains a 19.9% share in the company.
In many ways, the contract brings Kier back to where it started with the original French Kier depot only a few miles away in Epping and much of Harlow having been built by Kier including the hospital, housing estates, sewage works, factories and even parts of the M11 motorway.
