Waste Transfer & Resource Processing

Kier works with partners, suppliers and local authorities to develop effective collection arrangements and new waste treatment facilities.

Driven by EU directives and Government policy, Kier works with its customers to get more people to recycle and reduce the level of waste going to landfill. We focus on prevention, reuse, recycling and energy recovery. In short, we recognise that waste is a valuable resource.

Pure Recycling, our materials recycling facility (MRF) at Ettington, Warwickshire is one of the largest MRFs in the UK and one of the most technically advanced facilities in Europe.

In partnership with Kier Construction’s experienced project team, we can deliver complex waste infrastructure projects encompassing the provision of the civil, building and mechanical elements of:

  • Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) processing plants
  • Energy from Waste (E-f-W) Plants
  • Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)
  • Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs)
  • Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants.
