Kier Southern and Henderson Green organised a charity golf afternoon at Bramshaw Golf Club recently to raise funds for Southampton General Hospital’s the Red & White Appeal.
The Red & White Appeal is aiming to raise £2.2m to fund a new specially designed day-care unit for patients with leukaemia and other blood disorders from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Channel Islands.
Fifty-six golfers, from as far afield as Newcastle, Bristol and Essex teed off on the club’s Manor course on what turned out to be a bright and warm day - perfect for golf! The winning team, with 90 points, was Brazier Properties. They were presented with their prizes by local golfing legend and club member, John Jacobs. Prizes were also awarded for second place team, individual first prize, longest drive and nearest the pin.
After a celebratory dinner, Robbie Sampson, a young man who benefited from the excellent work being carried out at Southampton General Hospital, told his personal story behind his recovery following a bone marrow transplant.
With the help of a raffle and an auction, with prizes donated from the charity, the organisers and teams, over £3,762 was raised for this worthwhile appeal - a magnificent effort by all involved!
