Our commitment

As one of the first construction companies to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in 2013 (which we re-signed in 2021), we have a long-standing history of providing job and training opportunities for the Armed Forces community.  We remain committed to offering meaningful and sustainable employment, working with providers including the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and Buildforce.

Employees with a connection to the Armed Forces work in a huge range of roles at Kier, including gritter drivers, health and safety managers, IT security specialists and managing directors.

 

Kier re-awarded ERS Gold

We have been re-awarded Gold by the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), for our ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community.

The prestigious scheme celebrates companies who have shown support and advocacy to the Armed Forces, including those currently serving as well as their families, veterans and volunteers.  We've held Gold, the highest award, since 2016, because of our sustained efforts to provide employees with career opportunities, supportive HR policies and an Armed Forces community network.
