Beth Allsopp is a sales advisor for Kier Living at our Woodbury Hill development. On Friday 22 May, our marketing suites and show homes started to reopen to customers with a number of new measures in place. Here, Beth explains what you can expect when coming to visit.

“On Friday 22 May, we reopened a number of our show homes and marketing suites across the country. We are doing this in a phased approach so we can manage the process carefully. I was proud that Woodbury Hill was one of the first to open – with new measures in place to protect customers and colleagues.

We have followed Government guidance since the outbreak of COVID-19, downed tools when we were asked and reopened only when we were told we were able to. We continue to follow Public Health England’s guidance on social distancing and when you step in to one of our spaces you will see the health, safety and wellbeing of all, is paramount.

That’s why we have created a safety pledge, so customers know exactly what to expect before visiting. We have customers eagerly wanting to buy, view and talk to us about our range of homes and it’s imperative we do this in an environment in which they, and we all, feel safe and comfortable.

Our pledge starts before you even walk through the doors – by private appointment only. Whilst this does mean more planning by all, it means that we can make sure that you arrive to a space where social distancing can absolutely be adhered to and you get one-on-one time with us and we can run through all of your requirements.

When you arrive, we will have social distancing markers in place, so you can safely keep your distance from others. Whilst we always have an open doors policy at Kier Living, this is the case more so than ever, as all our doors will stay open to minimise contact with surfaces.

Customers will be provided gloves and hand sanitiser in all public areas. Like when purchasing your shopping, we have installed perspex screens on our desks so you can communicate with us with added protection.

Normally, I would like nothing more than to offer a customer a tea or coffee but we won’t be serving these or having communal areas, such as toilets, open at this time. We feel these are understandable measures and when you book an appointment you will be informed of this so you can be prepared.

What’s more, our show homes and marketing suites will continue to be cleaned thoroughly and regularly.

Lockdown has given many families across the country time to think, reflect and focus their needs – do they need more living space, more bedrooms or even wanting to downsize to a smaller home – and so we are here to help, safely.

Since we have re-opened Woodbury Hill, we have helped two couples reserve a home and handed over the keys to one of our lovely 3-bedroom houses to a happy family.

We will continue to support families as they embark on their house-buying journey, and alongside our safety measures we have some fantastic offers at the moment, to help with our mission to make people proud to call a house, a home.”
