Kier has been appointed to Lot 2 of the SCAPE Construction next generation framework in England & Wales, and Lot 2 of the newly launched SCAPE Scotland Construction framework, for the direct award of projects valued up to £7.5m with an expected overall pipeline total of £2bn over the next four years.

Kier has been a SCAPE delivery partner since 2011. This is the third iteration of the framework which is focussed on achieving the net zero ambitions of its clients with alignment to the Government’s Construction Playbook. It’s designed to ensure collaboration and efficiency from tender through to project delivery and aftercare. The framework, available to all public sector clients, will accelerate delivery of construction and refurbishment projects, creating spaces, places and experiences that leave a sustainable legacy for local communities.

Over the last decade, Kier has delivered over 1,300 projects for SCAPE, ranging from £50,000 to £4m in value, including Bicester Eco Business Centre, the design and construction of the first UK highly sustainable Passivhaus ‘Plus’ 1,400m2 office building, as well as the Flintshire Adult Day Care Centre in North Wales providing new state-of-the-art community day care facilities and social care services.

Liam Cummins, Group managing director, Kier Construction said: “We are delighted to have been to have been appointed to the SCAPE Construction framework.

“We look forward to continuing to be a delivery partner for SCAPE, putting sustainability and community legacy at the heart of our projects. Through collaboration, our innovative SCAPE projects will continue to deliver value for money public sector infrastructure supported by our local supply chain partners.”

Adrian Hill, acting deputy managing director for SCAPE, said: “Kier has an excellent track record of delivering spaces and places that make a tangible difference to local communities as well as delivering genuine social value. I am pleased that after a very rigorous procurement process they have proved once again that they are ready to deliver SCAPE procured projects and help the public sector accelerate their net zero ambitions.”
