Signature Care Homes needed to build a care home with a range of facilities to meet the demands of modern living. Working with Kier, a new three-story care home was created.
The care home would have 63 private apartments that vary from studios to one-bedroom suites, set in three acres of land.
A range of other amenities would be created. Furthermore, there was a requirement for 24 specialist dementia suites, designed especially to offer unique support for those requiring specialist dementia care.
Kier worked closely with Signature Care Homes to create a state-of-the-art care home with a range of facilities. As well as the accommodation, the site included two restaurants; a bistro for casual dining and an upmarket restaurant with private dining facilities.
Additional facilities included a cinema room, hair salon, a therapy room, quiet rooms, library and several activity rooms providing 7 day-a-week activities. All gardens were landscaped and included designated nature and wildlife areas.
The project was completed by Kier in less than two years and finished to an excellent standard. The care home opened in 2018 and its facilities are now enjoyed by the residents.
The Fulmar is part of the Greenwich Peninsula Regeneration Scheme, consisting of three residential blocks, comprising 139 flats, surrounding a central landscaped podium courtyard.
