The Challenge:

Following the completion of the Building Schools for the Future programme, the London Borough of Hackney had to create innovative ways to fund its school programme.

Having worked with the Council for over 10 years the team's challenge was to understand the Council's objective and deliver 13 major projects across the London Borough of Hackney.

Tiger Way is one of the 13 projects delivered.

The Solution:

A structured framework for stakeholder workshops and design reviews was adopted to provide a new primary and nursery school, funded by the sale of 89 apartments.

BIM Level 2 and 'soft landings' was integrated into the process.

The Impact:

The scheme includes a new multi-use games area, sports zone, central outdoor play facility and rooftop areas. The new state-of-the-art school will educate local children for future years.

The students will benefit new external teaching spaces and the new residents will have a new robust and carefully planned living space, with a high level green social space overlooking the park.

Success has been achieved by using highly qualified and experienced staff in development viability, programme management, procurement and project delivery.

" Kier Structures have performed well on Tiger Way. They provide an efficient service and always considering best value for the project and work within the programme constraints and react as required to any urgent needs of the project team. We would have no hesitation in using the Kier Structures team on future projects. "
