Welcome to the project page for the Mayfield School development in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Project details
Appointed by the Portsmouth City Council on behalf of the Department for Education, the new school caters for over 1,500 primary and secondary pupils and includes 74 classrooms, modern arts facilities, a revamped pre-school nursery, a spinning studio and a dedicated innovation laboratory to support STEAM learning.
With the new building now constructed, the attention now turns to the demolition of the old building to make way for the schools extended playing fields. Elements of the former school building will be retained in the new development, including the portico entrance, the original 1930's clock and war memorial plaques.
The project is being delivered as part of the Department For Education Priority Schools Building Programme. The investment will be a major boost to the economy and community for years to come. Works are set to complete in Summer 2022.
