Supporting charities close to the hearts of our employees.

Supporting charitable causes

The Kier Foundation is an independently registered charity that supports both Kier’s charity partner and other charitable causes close to the hearts of our employees and the communities in which we operate.

The Kier Foundation began operating in 2012, with the purpose of offering financial support to charitable bodies throughout the UK. Since its formation, the Kier Foundation has donated more than £1.5m to charitable causes, thanks to the continued support of our employees.

At Kier, we facilitate employee engagement and involvement with charitable partners, providing support through the Kier Foundation. Part of this is our Payroll Giving, a scheme that allows employees to make donations via a direct deduction from their gross pay.

Charity partnership – Trussell Trust

At Kier, we have a corporate charity partner and in July 2023 we welcomed our latest partnership with The Trussell Trust.

This partnership, chosen by Kier colleagues, will deliver volunteering and pro bono work, as well as aiming to raise £250,000 to support core delivery programmes, including cost of living emergency support.

We support communities

We provide employee match funding to support our employees and the causes they hold dear. People are at the heart of what we do and we look to create a lasting positive legacy in the communities in which we operate.

We have charity champions

Our ambassadors raise funds within the workplace and spread the word throughout the year.

We partner with charities

Every two years, we nominate a new charity partner, and we have partnered with Trussell Trust until 2025.

We raised £487,000 for Every Youth (End Youth Homelessness) including £107,000 of pro bono work.

We run the Kier Winners Club

Our Winners Club scheme is an employee lottery which could offer prize money of up to £5,000. Income is split 50/50 between the prize money and the Kier Foundation.

We match funding

Employee match funding is designed to support Kier employees in their fundraising efforts for UK registered charities. Any Kier employee can apply for up to £200 of match funding twice in any financial year.
