Our regeneration of Guildford Station and the surrounding area is making considerable progress, delivering homes and local improvements which will provide huge benefits to the town. The project is being delivered by Solum, our joint venture with Network Rail, and in total will provide 438 new apartments on railway land, providing improved access to a vital local transport hub.

The first residential phase of this development, 98 build-to-rent properties, has now reached practical completion. ‘The Mint’, which was forward funded through an agreement with Grainger plc in July 2020, brings new, high-quality rented accommodation and provides quick access to both London and Guildford’s town centre.

In addition to the 438 new homes, Solum’s work in Guildford will also provide refurbishment and regeneration to the surrounding area, with the entire redevelopment reaching £200m of investment. It will facilitate a new Station Quarter for Guildford, including £25m of station upgrades, retail and office space, a multi-storey car park and significant public realm improvements. It will also see Guildford become an Access for All (AFA) compliant station, offering step free access to platforms.

The Solum partnership between Kier Property and Network Rail has been established since July 2008, creating new homes and significant public realm improvements at busy transport hubs. To date we have completed schemes in Epsom, Christchurch, Haywards Heath, Walthamstow and Twickenham, which have delivered £64m in station improvements.
