Kier has been appointed to the Department for Education’s (DfE’s) new £15bn 2025 construction framework (CF25) for building and refurbishing education facilities across England.
This new framework covers all types of education buildings in England, including schools, universities and further education and technical colleges. It spans a six-year period and Kier has secured places on its high-value band (projects worth £12m+): North and South Lots.
Continuing its 18-year relationship with the DfE as a partner on the Academies Framework, this is the sixth time Kier has secured a position on the Department for Education’s (DfE) frameworks, reflecting its consistently strong track record in delivering high-quality education projects. Kier was awarded contractor of the year 2024 and 2025 at the Education Estates conference awards.
Alongside the delivery of new educational facilities, through this framework Kier will use its national scale with regional delivery to support local communities, providing training and employment opportunities, with a focus on apprenticeships, T Levels, and upskilling initiatives to create career pathways for local people and supply chain.
Rebecca Boundy, managing director, Clients & Markets, Kier Construction, said:
As a strategic partner to the Department for Education, we are proud to be continuing our collaboration on the new CF25 framework. Our team will continue to draw on nearly 20 years of experience to deliver high-quality, modern, and sustainable education facilities. These projects will not only support teaching staff and enhance learning for students but also create lasting benefits for communities across the country.
Kier has a long-established track record in education, delivering hundreds of exceptional learning environments with a focus on social and environmental sustainability, standardisation, digital construction and modern methods of construction, as well as strong experience in creating inclusive environments.
The contractor’s innovative kSchool standardised design ensures every project meets the latest DfE standards, delivering flexible, cost-effective, and future-ready buildings. kSchool enables the consistent delivery of the government’s aspiration of safe and sustainable educational environments.
