Kier has appointed Alexandra Smith as the new National Frameworks Director for its construction business, following the planned retirement of Deane Hudson, after a 39-year career with the company.

Alexandra joined Kier Construction two years ago as senior business development manager for its London & Thames Valley business, where she has led the public sector pipeline and strengthened framework relationships with customers, consultants and partners.

In her new role, she will lead Kier’s national frameworks strategy and the division’s long-term growth ambitions across the public sector. Frameworks are a cornerstone of Kier Construction’s delivery model, enabling strong partnerships and ensuring consistent value and certainty for public sector customers.

Alexandra said she is proud and excited to be taking on the new role:

Frameworks are vitally important to us at Kier and they are fundamental to providing value for the public purse, and I’m focused on continuing to strengthen those relationships, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of opportunities for the Group. It’s a privilege to follow in Deane’s footsteps, and I look forward to working closely with him during our handover. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside the outstanding team in London and the Thames Valley over the last two years, and I look forward to supporting them in a different capacity as part of this new role.

Kier Construction is currently recruiting for a new senior business development manager in the London & Thames Valley business.

Rebecca Boundy, managing director, clients & markets for Kier Construction, said:

Deane will leave a remarkable legacy both within our business and across the industry at large – we all wish him a happy retirement. At Kier we are committed to retaining and developing talent, so it’s wonderful that Alexandra will be occupying this critical role on our team. This will be a huge asset to the continued growth of the business and she leads on driving customer relationships, business development, and commercial governance in this space.

Kier’s construction business is proud to support national frameworks for the UK Government's Crown Commercial Service (CCS), NHS, Department for Education (DfE) and the Defence Estate Optimisation (DEO) Portfolio in addition to our critical framework partners, Pagabo, Procure Partnerships and Scape.
