Following record-breaking FY26 results, Kier is strengthening its growth strategy across its London & Thames Valley construction portfolio, better aligning with customer needs and bringing the Group’s full end-to-end capabilities to projects across the region.

Introducing Specialist Projects

Specialist Projects will become the third operating unit within Kier Construction London & Thames Valley, complementing the region's established Public and Private sector business units. A new Regional Director will be appointed to lead the business, which will focus on delivering large-scale refurbishment and selected new build projects across the region.

The new operating unit has been created in response to growing customer demand for specialist expertise capable of transforming existing assets into modern, high-performing environments. By bringing together technical capability, delivery expertise and end-to-end services, Specialist Projects will help customers maximise the value of their assets while supporting long-term sustainability and performance goals.

Expanding Capability with a Dedicated Cat-B Fit Out Offer

Supporting growth in the commercial sector, Kier Construction London & Thames Valley is also launching a dedicated Cat-B fit out offer, recognising increasing client demand for refurbishment, workplace transformation and lifecycle extension projects.

David adds:

This new offer will enable customers to benefit from our end-to-end capability, combining in-house design, engineering and M&E expertise to deliver urban projects that help customers decarbonise assets, extend building lifecycles, and create future-ready environments. It brings together our scalability as a major contractor with our specialist in-house Cat-B fit out and MEP expertise, providing customers with a single, trusted partner from concept to occupation.

The new offer will see Kier's construction and MEP specialists continue to work as one integrated team, combining design, installation and commissioning expertise with digital, offsite and manufacturing-led approaches. This collaborative model enables the delivery of high-performing workplace environments while providing greater certainty around quality, sustainability, and programme and cost.

The new Cat-B fit out offer builds on a proven track record of delivering sustainable commercial projects across London and the Thames Valley region. Kier's integrated approach has already contributed to industry-leading outcomes on projects including Network W1 and TIDE Bankside, both of which achieved upfront carbon intensities below the Greater London Authority's aspirational target of 600 kgCO₂e/m².

Together, the launch of Specialist Projects and the new Cat-B fit out offer strengthens Kier Construction London & Thames Valley's ability to support customers across the full asset lifecycle, delivering innovative, sustainable and high-performing environments while driving future growth across the region.
